Westminster Council unveils new affordable housing plans as part of Budget
Westminster City Council has announced a new wave of affordable housing projects across the city as part of its 2026/27 Budget. To support the next phase of delivery, the Council is allocating £160 million to the new pipeline projects.
From December 2025 to 2035, the council has plans to deliver 1,500 affordable family sized homes across Westminster, as part of our overall pipeline to deliver 2,700 homes. This is in addition to the 500 affordable homes – 449 at social rent and 84 intermediate homes - already delivered since 2022 under the council’s Truly Affordable Housing Strategy.
The new schemes form a significant step in the Council’s long-term commitment to tackle the city’s housing shortage, with more than 7,000 households currently on its waiting list.
